learn to DM CLASS
Learn how to run your very own games of Dungeons & Dragons in our 8 week course! Aspiring DMs will learn how to run a pre-written adventure module for a group of players. Classes are led by Riley Silverman, professional Dungeon Master and writer for DnDBeyond.com, the official Dungeons & Dragons website.
Lessons will cover:
- How to run the three types of encounters (combat, social and exploration).
- How to prepare for each game session.
- How to adapt pre-written material to fit your players and incorporate their backstories.
- Hands on experience running adventures.
Students will receive a “DM in Training” Binder that they will fill during the course:
- A short adventure to run themselves
- Monster stat blocks
- Reference sheets (conditions, stats, “random” tables)
What to Bring:
All materials will be provided. If students wish to bring their own books such as the Dungeon Masters Guide, please be sure it is labeled.
If your child is enrolled in a campaign that precedes class they are welcome to stay in the store between classes. Students are welcome to bring a snack and/or something to drink. Please no nuts or nut-products, thank-you!

Experience Level:
Students should already have some experience playing Dungeons & Dragons. If you’ve never played D&D before, we recommend signing up for our Weekly Campaigns first.

The Adventure Hall has over 3,000 miniatures on hand, 3D interactive maps and terrain, music, Philips Hue lighting, props and more to help bring our games to life. All of our Game Masters undergo background checks and are trained in first aid and CPR.
